Red Dot Design Award Winner

This is a nice concept for what the screens in the future can do for us, the way that they are already really advanced and the technology works well within and number of ways. I think that the best thing to do next would be to carry on working with the whole idea of how they can always improve on these ideas and concepts.

Fashion Show 2009

A collaboration between Derek Bowers and Brian Walker for STAG, the Scottish Textile Academic Group. 

As competition winners, both were asked to combine their initial ideas of typography (Derek Bowers) and illustration (Brian Walker) in order to design posters to promote STAG's annual Fashion Show. The duo then went on to produce VIP invitations and programs, with the latter being handed out at the event.

For the posters, both Derek and Brian screen printed the design onto a fabric called chiffon. They then stitched this onto a backing of heavy stock that displayed information about the event."

This style of work is exquisite, the way that the print has been created using screen printing makes this a perfect design for me personally, i love type and think that there are endless possibilities which you can create using it, the way that the print has a layer over the top which then when placed down creates the full outcome and makes the front be linked with fashion by creating a butterfly out of the equipment needed for fashion. 

Calvin Klein Website

This is design for screen, this work has a clean and subtle look about it which answers the brief for what they were wanting. They always try to keep the designs clean and simple with consumer usability in mind. I remember using this website and to find your way around to the products you wanted to purchase. The way that the item you are viewing loads into a larger view again shows clean cut and attention to accuracy. This proves they are a high class brand and can do a problem correctly.

Coca Cola Advertisements.

This special edition can could boost the sales of the product due to how nice it looks with the embossed can, even people who don't do artistic work can still appreciate this work. The simple style of work is starting to come back into fashion in this modern climate, however i think that a touch of red could have kept it with the coca cola style, even if it was just for the logo or a small section.

This is then some work which they have created for a website, this is simple yet eye catching, the only problem which i have with this work is how the typography doesnt look as clear as it could do, i think the font could do with being in a more clear to distinguish colour such as the swirls which are exciting the bottle. 

Antrepo

I think that the modern packaging is useless and is just bumping up the price of the production of this work, i think that the products on the far right is the most effective and completes the outcome, The end result would work a lot better and help the profits of all the companies.

Sandy Sanderson

New Zealand based artist Sandy Sanderson creates miniature cars out ofrecycled soda and beer cans.

This is a way which shows how you can create art from things which don't need to be used again, even the rubbish which you are going to throw into the bin can be made into this work of art. each of the designs are created only using cans, but the style it has been done and with such precision makes it work and look of a high value from art which most likely cost around £20 - £30 to create on the cans. Depending on the mistakes which were made, they may of also cost the guy his teeth for the amount of sugary snacks on his work. 

Junior Fritz Jacquet

"The faces of fictional characters are first sculpted by hand and then coated with shellac and different pigments."

These are amazing little designs which can be seen and identified very easy, the way to which they have been created makes them work well and could be used as a great advertisement campaign. I think that the use of the different colours make it even better and this completes this style.
