USC Campus Booklet

I have to create some booklets for the fresher next year and this is when i thought that it could link into both of the projects, this is something which has a style which is so simple that any can read it from children all the way through to the old age pensioners, this doesn't have to happen so much with mine but it would be nice if that would come across in my design 

Old style meets new technique

The binding on this leather look booklet is amazing, I really like the way that its gone from a the old vintage style of the leather to the modern ring bound effect thats been applied to the front of it. where the colour has started to strip away aswell is another little perk to this design and its something that i may try in the future, applying old style with a modern technique.

Dye Cutting

The cut outs in the front of this design work amazingly for me, i think that the way they have used the dye cut effect to there advantage has made this such a good project and a pleasure to look at. 

The colour choices are great aswell. ranging from the simple orange and white with the base stock colours, this keeps the cost down and allows for a much cheaper run of prints.

Format and Layout

Here is another example of the format and layout when it comes to how i want to design, this one however isn't as wide as mine would be, mine is planned to be 287 x 180 giving it that really different shape, this is something that i think could work in my favour as i previously said. This design is very vector based and i think its something that could be improved by maybe added some high quality photographs 

Cumbria Woodlands...

This is the same format to which i think i want to do for the rest of this project, the layout can fit nicely into the way of which i want things to happen yet you can still make it stand out on the shelves, this is something which would be difficult to do if i went with a really odd shape which i don't think would work.

Vincent Reardon

The layout on the cards with the logo work really well for this project and this could be a way in which i look into how i want my logo to be displayed in the bottom right corner of my work aswell. Again there has only been simple colours used and simple imagery however they have mixed up vector based work with photographic work, this is hard to get right but in this scenario they have appeared to have nailed it.

Interesting Cd Cover Design

This isn't exactly a booklet or a magazine but still i find the design of the cover and the layout intriguing. the way that the triangles have been overlaid have a way to which i think that it could influence my work and maybe even play a part in my final designs.
